Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI)
Focus : Visualising invisible inflammation in chronic pain. The "Visual Validation."
- The Client: A 58-year-old male presenting with chronic, non-specific low back and hip pain. He had "clear" X-rays and MRIs, and was increasingly frustrated that no structural cause for his discomfort could be found.
-
The Investigation
The Thermal Scan (which included a full-body view) immediately revealed a significant hyperthermal (heat) asymmetry corresponding to his right sacroiliac (SI) joint, with cascading heat patterns down his sciatic nerve pathway. -
The Benefit
While non-diagnostic, this "thermal signature" provided immediate Visual Validation. It proved that his pain was real and actively "simmering." He finally had an explanation for his "invisible" inflammation. -
The Strategy
The thermal map gave us a precise, data-driven starting point. We used this insight to implement a targeted Functional Nutrition anti-inflammatory protocol and referred him to a musculoskeletal specialist for specific joint-stabilisation physiotherapy -
The Outcome
A follow-up scan four months later showed a dramatic cooling of the thermal patterns and improved symmetry, matching his significant reduction in pain. DITI allowed us to monitor his functional progress and refine his treatment plan based on active physiology.
