Thermal Imaging Clinic
At Alitura Health, we use Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) as a non-invasive technique to visualise your body’s physiological patterns in real-time. Unlike structural tests like X-rays or MRIs that look at anatomy, Thermal Imaging maps your metabolic processes detecting subtle temperature changes that often precede physical symptoms.
By identifying areas of inflammation, lymphatic congestion, or vascular shifts early, we move away from reactive medicine and toward true prevention. This isn’t just about a scan; it’s about gaining the clarity needed to nourish your body exactly where it needs support.
The Mobile Clinic & Process
I bring the Thermal Imaging Clinic to various locations across the Northern Rivers, providing a private and supportive environment for your health discovery.
What to expect during your appointment:
Acclimatisation & Comfort: We begin in a temperature-controlled clinical environment (maintained at 20°C–23°C) to allow your body’s surface temperature to stabilise. This 15-minute period is essential for ensuring the highest level of accuracy.
The Imaging Process: Using a digital infrared camera, we capture a series of high-resolution thermograms. The process is completely radiation-free, non-invasive, and involves no body contact providing a safe, stress-free screening experience.
Expert Interpretation & Comprehensive Report: Your images are analysed by a certified Thermologist to identify thermal symmetries and physiological patterns. Delivered online or in person, you will receive a detailed digital report featuring your full-colour thermal maps and initial clinical findings.
Translating Insight into Action: While your report identifies where inflammation or shifts are occurring, a Naturopathic Strategy Session is where we determine why. By booking a consultation or choosing one of our Total Wellness Packages, we sit down (online or in-person) to translate your visual data into a structured plan using clinical nutrition and herbal medicine to address your specific areas of concern.
3-Month Baseline (Breast Health)
Why we require a 3-Month Follow-Up
Because every woman’s thermal pattern is as unique as a thumbprint, a second scan is required three months after your initial appointment. This allows us to:
Establish a Stable Baseline: We confirm that your thermal patterns are ‘static’ and not fluctuating due to temporary hormonal or environmental factors.
Detect Subtle Shifts: By comparing the two sets of images, we can identify minute physiological changes that may require closer Naturopathic attention or further investigation.
Proactive Prevention: Once your baseline is established, most women move to an annual ‘Maintenance Scan’ to ensure their breast health remains stable.

Frequently Asked Questions
It is important to understand that Thermal Imaging is a proactive screening tool, not a replacement for a Mammogram, Ultrasound, or MRI. Because it is non-diagnostic, it should be viewed as a vital partner to your standard medical screenings—adding a layer of "functional intelligence" that they cannot see.
Think of it this way: a Mammogram or Ultrasound looks for a "thing" (structure), while Thermography looks at the "activity" and blood flow in the area (function). By combining both, you get the most comprehensive, 360-degree view of your health possible.
Clinical Disclaimer: Thermal Imaging is intended for use as a complement to, not a replacement for, any diagnostic medical imaging. All thermal reports are intended for health monitoring and as a guide for further clinical investigation.
The power of Thermal Imaging lies in its ability to map active physiology. While traditional medical scans (like X-rays or MRIs) are "structural"—meaning they look for a physical lump or a break once it has already formed—Thermal Imaging looks at functional changes in how your body is behaving.
This offers several unique clinical benefits:
- Early Investigation: It acts as a "thermal compass," highlighting areas of heat or dysfunction long before they may be visible on a standard structural scan.
- Proactive Monitoring: It establishes a baseline of your unique thermal signature, allowing us to monitor changes in your physiological health or systemic inflammation over time with total precision.
- A "Gap-Filler" in Wellness: It provides a visual map of where your body is struggling, allowing us to adjust your nutrition and lifestyle before a condition progresses to a stage where a medical diagnosis is required.
- Visual Validation: It validates what you are feeling—whether that’s chronic pain, digestive stagnation, or lymphatic congestion—giving us a targeted starting point for your health recovery.
Thermal Imaging is a non-diagnostic, non-invasive, and radiation-free clinical tool used to map the infrared patterns of your body. Using a high-definition medical camera, we analyse your "thermal signature" to identify areas of physiological change.
While the primary focus is often on detecting excess heat—which can indicate active inflammation, increased vascular activity, or lymphatic congestion—a truly investigative approach looks at the entire thermal landscape. This includes identifying areas of low heat or significant asymmetry. Just as heat signals over-activity, a lack of heat can indicate underlying dysfunction, such as reduced circulation or nerve compression.
